MORNING SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS MEDITATIONS (MSBM)

TEXT: ISAIAH 31:1-9

THEME: WOE TO THOSE WHO GO TO EGYPT TO LOOK FOR HELP

Dear friend in Christ Jesus good morning blessings and win today. Each day you don’t see MSBM please find time to study your Bible and those days you do not see MSBM, it’s an indication that you as an individual or a family should also spend some time praying for me if you truly love me. I am also a human being and I have challenges that I also face and I need encouragement and strengthening from brethren like you reading this meditation. Sometimes I’m weak. Sometimes I’m tired. Sometimes I’m in a difficulty. Thank God I am here today with you guys. Let’s study his word now.
In chapter 30; too many important aspects are raised by the author such as:
✓ Never go astray from the Lord. If you do, hurry and return to him before his anger is aroused. And when you return to him, he will cause rain to fall on your crops (Life) and your land will produce fruits and plenty (Cf Is 30:23). Disobedience takes away all the glory and the blessings.
✓ Secondly, if you are obedient and follow God’s counsel he will through his spirit whisper to you saying:  “This is the way, walk in it” (Is 30:21). In this regard you will never walk alone or be misled into the snares or the whims and caprices of the devil. Isn’t that amazing? While others get caught up and destroyed because of their disobedience to God, we the chosen ones are guided by the Lord against the odds of the enemy. What an amazing God we serve!!
Chapter 31 summarizes the fact that we must not go to Egypt to look for help. Egypt has always been the symbol of anti-Christ, a place of slavery, a place of suffering and agony. Throughout the Bible the nation of Egypt represents anything that stands in opposition to the Liberty, freedom and progress of the children of God. Spiritually Egypt represents strongholds, occultic powers, sorcerers, secret cults, or man made authority etc. God says anybody who goes to Egypt to look for help will also perish with them (Is 31:3b). The scriptures describe Egypt as: “The Egyptians are men not God; their horses are flesh not spirit” (Is 31:3). So why look for help from mortal men?  God says even the Assyrians will fall by the sword 🗡️🗡️ (Is 31:8). The question is why go to people who cannot help you? Isn’t it true that we have looked up to many people in this life and they have failed us repeatedly? Isn’t it true that we have trusted our own means and transactions, connections, credentials but they have equally failed us? Some have gone the extra mile to l practice cultism and fetishes but still nothing substantial. Some have even sold their souls to the devil yet no satisfaction.
It’s time to go back to the Messiah our Maker and Saviour; to seek true Fatherhood. It’s time to go back to Jesus Christ and ask him for direction and let him say to us “My Son/Daughter, This is the Way; walk in it”. It’s time to return to God and see how he changes our sorrows to joy. It’s time to go back and tell him like the prodigal son “Father I am not worthy to be called your son. Take me back not as your son but as one of your hired servants” (Luke 15:17-24). It’s not late and God is never unkind to throw us out. Come to him now, be saved and satisfied.

PRAYER

Father thank you for your endless love in my life, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Amen and Amen.
