END-OF-YEAR HARVEST THANKSGIVING IN RCC INTERNATIONAL
TEXT: GENESIS 8:22
Greetings and blessings dear friends in Christ Jesus. Today we begin our end of year thanksgiving to God. Some people traditionally call it “Harvest thanksgiving”. The reason for that appellation is that at this time or season, it is believed that the regular farmers would have done harvesting and would gladly come to God’s house to offer a portion of their crops to God as a sign of Thanksgiving for the fertility of the soil. It is a way to say thank you Lord for blessing me with a successful planting and harvesting season. At the back of their mind, they would be saying, as I come back to sow into your field, your house, your work, please LORD bless my next season with more harvest. That’s the Spirit behind the harvest thanksgiving. No doubt the Bible says “As long as the earth endures , there shall be seed time and harvest time, summer and winter, raining season and dry season” so to say (Gen 8:22).
Nowadays we are not only dealing with farmers but with people with all works of life and so at the end of the year, we have come back to God to say “Father thank you for blessing me so far”. Then you as an individual or with your family will come up joyfully to give thanks to God. It’s something we shouldn’t take for granted. Why won’t I give thanks when this year I have seen many people dead, many are buried and some still in the mortuary. Is that not enough reason to come up to thank my God? If you have been fed with the Word, it’s important to also participate in thanking God in that fellowship or Church. I believe that I have and I am your pastor online and I have been feeding you with God’s Word. There’s nothing wrong with joining us in giving thanks to God in RCC INTERNATIONAL or at least join us partially if you are too committed in your Church. This year our Thanksgiving is geared towards buying musical instruments in our new Church building which by faith we will be entering this December 17th which has coincided with my marriage 20th anniversary and the 27th memorial thanksgiving ceremony of my late mother.
Join us to offer something for the house of the LORD as listed below. You may be touched to give more but do so according to how God has blessed you. I encourage all followers of Morning Showers of blessings Meditation to join in this end of year thanksgiving all to the glory of God and tap the blessings of sowing and reaping in our Ministry.
